Argentina – USA
Photo Stations:
Create 4 photo & artifact stations, featuring a cultural aspect of Argentine life: 
1. Matte – Picture of matte cups, social sharing, display of matte cup & metal straw
2. Dance – Picture of tango and other “native” dances, costumes, CD of pipe music 
3. Gaucho – Picture of gaucho, poncho, bolerdillos, knife
4. School – Picture of students, facility, student reports

Students visit each station and complete a simple 3-part listing exercise: 
1. What I See
2. Questions I Have 
3. Differences between Argentina and US

Debrief:
Students report their observations and questions in a class-wide debriefing while the teacher compiles notes on the board. 

Power Point Presentation:
Present Power Point.  Discuss which questions it answers and which questions it raises.

Pen Pal Exchange:
Students “signed up” their addresses and I sent the word document to my exchange hosts. 
Write to a pen pal in Argentina and ask some of the following questions –

How many grades or levels do you have in your school?
What is required to graduate from your school?
If you play soccer, where do you go to play? How do you become a member of a league?
What kind of music and dancing do you do for fun?  Where do you dance?
Do you drink matte?  What are some typical foods?  What are your favorite foods?
What do you do for fun or recreation?
Why do you wear school uniforms?
What does your weekly schedule look like?
Are gauchos real or are they a tourist gimmick?
Do you have vegetarians in your country?
How much does it cost to go to school?  To the university?
What time of day do you have dinner?
Do you watch American movies?
Have you ever traveled out of Argentina?
Where does your family go for vacation?
Can you explain “The Disappeared” to me?
What do you think of your current president?  Our current president?
